Annapurna region has several of the highest peaks in the world along with diverse flora, fauna and unique settlements in the territory. Our trip goes from subtropical to alpine mountain passes. Driving west of Kathmandu our trek starts by Bhulbhule and extends through Bahundanda, Chame, Manang, eventually to Thorong La pass (5416m) and back from Muktinath and queen city Pokhara. Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Arrive in Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) where one of our representatives will meet you with a display board for Nepal All Trekking. After a casual discussion, transfer to hotel and overnight stay.
Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule (840 m)
After breakfast start drive form Kathmandu to Bhulbhule (840m) along Kathmandu- Pokhara highway. Bhulbhule is about 186 km/ 8 hour drive from Kathmandu. Driving along scenic foothills, rustic villages and dramatic landscaped, it is going to be a pleasing journey though is a long distance travel. Overnight in Bhulbhule.
Day 3: Trek to Bahundanda (1310 m)
As soon as we start trek from Bhulbhule, cross a suspension bridge and pass a cascading waterfall ahead. The trail leads us through rice terraces and lush forest by passing the villages of Taraphu, Nadi, Lampata and eventually reach to Bahundanda, literally means “hill of Brahmins”. Overnight in a local guest house. (5 hours trek)
Day 4: Trek to Chamje (1430m)
Leaving Bahundanda our trail drops steeply downhill and goes through rice fields till reaching Ghermu village (1140m). Further trails goes downhill, pass by Syange village and again climb steeply to Jagat (1300m). Ahead we walk through beautiful Pine forest till reaching to Chamje village. We stay a night in a local teahouse of Chamje. (5 hours trek)
Day 5: Trek to Dharapani (1860 m)
Today our journey begins with descending through rocky trail to Marshyandi river and then uphill to the village of Tal (1675m). Tal is the first village we meet on Manang district. Beyond Tal, the valley narrows. We walk by zigzag trail through corn, barley and potato fields. An easy climb just at the end takes to Dharapani village (1860m), where we are going to spend tonight. (4-5 hours trek)
Day 6: Trek to Chame (2670 m)
From today the silver mountains welcome us. Crossing Marshyandi River the trail route goes westward to the village of Bagarchhap (2160m). From here most of villages we see are Tibetan influenced. By progressive up and downhill walk through pine and fir forests takes us to the villages of Timang, Thanchowk, Koto and eventually to Nar-Phu valley. The fine glimpse of Annapurna II, IV and some other are just inspiring. We reach to Chame to set our night stay. (5-6 hours trek)
Day 7: Trek to Pisang (3200 m)
After breakfast we start through deep forest in a steep and narrow valley. Cross suspension bridges over Marshyandi Nadi for several times and ascend steeply upward the river to the next valley. From there the trail joins to climb to Pisang. Overnight at a guesthouse. (5-6 hours trek)
Day 8: Trek to Manang (3540 m)
Today we are going to make our journey to Manang village, the major village of Manang district. From trail route there are lively views of Annapurna Mountains to the south and mysterious Mustang region to the north. As we go up air become thinner, colder and drier. So we recommend walk slowly with a constant pace. Stay overnight in Manang. (6-7 hours trek)
Day 9: Acclimatization at Manang
At high elevation some might get difficult to breath and walk. So we plan a day rest in Manang. But instead of being inactive, we suggest to walk around the village or go for a short hike nearby. There are lots of interesting places around.
Day 10: Trek to Ledar (4200 m)
Today the elevation is going to increase around 700m. The trail ascends gently all the way to Ledar. Till the journey, this is the most scenic day offering the panoramic view of Annapurna sanctuary. We will set our night stay at Ledar (4200m). (4 hours trek)
Day 11: Trek to Thorong Phedi (4450 m)
Today we are going to trek short by means to let our body fit with elevation. Walk along rocky trail till reaching a busy little bazaar of Thorong Phedi. Overnight at guesthouse. (3-4 hours trek)
Day 12: Trek to Muktinath (3760 m) via Thorong La pass (5416m)
Today is the major and difficult day. By early morning we begin ascend to Thorong La pass (5416m), the highest point of our trip. The challenging climbs does worth when you see the scintillating views from the top. This is probably the best place to see all around view of western and central Himalayas.
From pass descend down to sacred town of Muktinath (3760m). There is a holy temple sacred for both Hindu and Buddhist. Overnight in Muktinath. (7-8 hours).
Day 13: Trek to Jomsom (2800 m)
Today mostly we walk through downhill path. In first couple of hours we descend down to kaligandaki River bed and further through flat trail till reaching to our destination Jomsom. Jomsom (2800m) is the administrative headquarter of the region. Stay overnight in Jomsom. (4 hours trek)
Day 14: Fly or drive to Pokhara (827 m)
From Jomsom either you fly or drive to Pokhara. The flight takes around 20 minutes whereas drive will be around 5 hours. Pokhara is a queen city with amazing geological artifacts and mountain sceneries. Stay overnight in Pokhara hotel.
Day 15: Pokhara City Tour
Today we are going to take you to some of historic and natural destination of Pokhara city. Visit Bindabasini temple, International mountain museum, Devi’s fall, Gupteswor cave, Phewa Lake finally to Sarangkot for beautiful sunset view. Overnight Pokhara.
Day 16: Fly or drive back to Kathmandu
Today we will drive back to Kathmandu (200km/ 7 hours drive). In alternate you can fly back as well (30 minute flight). Arriving Kathmandu, check in your hotel and relax. Or go for souvenir shopping to your friends and family. Overnight in hotel.
Day 17: Final departure
Our Annapurna Circuit Trekking trip ends today. At around three hours before your flight time transfer to airport for fly to your next destination. Nepal All Trekking grants sincere thanks for visiting Nepal with us.
