Overview
Jomsom, Muktinath, Ghorepani Trekking is a moderate trekking taking to deepest gorge of Kali Gandaki river, Jomsom, sacred Muktinath temple and the panoramic viewpoint of Poon Hill and Ghorepani. Reaching the maximum elevation of 3800m to Muktinath, the place of liberation, one could experience the religious existence of life. Explore centuries of old monasteries, chorten, local tribes and varied scenic beauties.
Shifting westward from Kathmandu, this tour plan would takes you magical Pokhara city along with mystical beauties of rustic Jomsom, Muktinath, Kalopani, Tatopani, Ghorepani and some other en-route villages. The finest glimpse of Annapurna Mountains is always awesome. Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1338m)
Welcome in integral cultural country: Nepal. Nepal All Trekking meets you as you arrive at Kathmandu airport. Transfer to a chosen hotel in downtown of Kathmandu and overnight stay.
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara
Today we’ll travel to Pokhara (827m). Pokhara is a queen city at 200km west of Kathmandu. Along Prithivi Highway, we’ll pass through beautiful foothills, scattered towns, White Water Rivers, farmlands and forests. Reaching Pokhara, check in to the hotel and then visit around Phewa Lake and Lakeside city. Overnight Pokhara. (6-7 hours drive)
Day 03: Fly to Jomsom (2713m), trek to Kagabeni (2806m)
In the morning we’ll attempt a short but scenic flight to Jomsom. It will offer bird’s eye view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. Jomsom is a small town with administrative headquarter of Mustang region. Start trekking following the riverbed of Kaligandaki along zigzag rocky trail. We reach to spend a night in Kagbani. (20 minutes flight/ 3-4 hours trek)
Day 04: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3800m)
Today our journey starts with walking along the upstream of Kaligandaki River and forests. We’ll have lots of scenic places to stop and see the adrenaline beauty. For almost whole day we have to walk uphills passing by villages of Khingar (3200m), Jarkot and eventually to Muktinath (3800m). Stay a peaceful night in this town of liberation. (4-5 hours trek)
Day 05: Explore around the Muktinath temple and Buddhist Gompa
This is the full day exploration trip around the Muktinath. We’ll visit most sacred place of liberation Muktinath temple, Buddhist Gompas and monuments of the territory, Kundas (water ponds), Gomba Samba, Swaminarayan, Shaligram, , village life and so on. Muktinath is also a fine place to see snowy peaks, sunset and sunrise. Overnight Muktinath.
Day 06: Muktinath to Jomsom (2713m)
In the morning make a pleasing round around town. After breakfast, continue trekking retracing down to Jomsom. Walk along world’s deepest Kaligandaki gorge; see magnificent view of Dhaulagiri peak, admire rustic villages and villagers and come to Jomsom for overnight stay. (6 hours trek)
Day 07: Jomsom to Kalopani (2530m)
Today we’ll walk through lush forest, scattered villages, rivers and uneven landscapes. On the way, we’ll meet Marpha, Chokhopani, Khokethanti villages settled by Gurung, Tamang, Thakali peoples. Kalopani will be our overnight set up village today. (5-6 hours trek)
Day 08: Kalopani to Tatopani (1189m)
Today is another special day of natural supremacy: the natural hot spring at Tatopani. Through the downhill trail, we’ll pass though waterfalls, forest and rice fields of lower mountain region. Overnight in Tatopani. (6-7 hours trek)
Day 09: Rest in Tatopani: Enjoy in natural hot spring
This is an extra day in Tatopani village. After an easy wake up and breakfast, we’ll visit around and go to enjoy in natural hot spring. Go and dive in hot spring pond. It is believed that, the hot spring has power of curing skin diseases. Stay overnight in hot spring.
Day 10: Tatopani to Ghorepani (2810m)
Breakfast is followed by first downhill and then uphill walks to Ghorepani. Pass by villages of Ghara, Chitre and the terraces in village surroundings. The trek become special by rhododendron and birch forest. Overnight stay in local teahouse of Ghorepani. (7 hours trek)
Day 11: Hike to Poon Hill (3210m), trek to Hile (1475m)
Early morning, we’ll hike to Poon Hill (3210m) to catch splendid sunrise over snowy Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. Poon Hill offer finest view of more than 15 mountains including Annapurna I (8091m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna south (7219m) and Fishtail (6993m). Enjoy the view, hike back to hotel for breakfast and continue trek all the way down to Hile village. Through rhododendron forest, the trails is easy downhill. Overnight Hile. (5-6 hours trek)
Day 12: Trek from Hille to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara (827m)
Today is the last and easy trekking day. The trail is almost straight through hilly road and rustic villages. Trekking journey ends by Nayapul, from where we’ll drive to Pokhara. Arriving Pokhara, you’ll have free time, visit around the city and Phewa Lake. Stay overnight in Pokhara hotel. (4 hours trek, 1.30 minutes drive)
Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu
After breakfast, we’ll drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus. Enjoy charming beauties of Nepalese hills throughout the journey. Arriving Kathmandu, shift to hotel and we’ll let you free for rest of day. Overnight Kathmandu. (6-7 hours drive)
Day 14: Final departure
Around three hours before your flight time, transfer to international airport for final departure flight from Nepal. Nepal All Trekking wishes your pleasing journey ahead. We love to see you again.
